Petrichor – a poem

Today is a rainy day and I’ve been lying in bed writing a little poem i quite like and wanted to share soooo…here you go

Petrichor

I can smell the pensive rain
And its name is my favourite word:
A cleansing acid, a watering can
Applied to a dry brain
Or the feeling of relief
Which the storm brings in:
Being excused from everything
Outside
And only leaving boot prints
In the oversaturated earth
Of my thoughts.
